Dental Technologies Video

Dr. Ririe briefly cover some of the many dental technologies used at Dental Professionals to make dental visits more comfortable for the patients.

Periolase LANAP™ for Periodontal Disease

Periodontal Disease Periolase LANAPHistorically, Periodontal Disease treatments have been painful procedures with a long recovery time.  Not so at Dental Professionals.  We are one of the few dental offices in the Portland Metro area that utilizes the LANAP – Periolase treatment technologies.  The LANAP – Periolase is a less painful, less traumatic way to treat periodontal disease at any stage.  LANAP uses a special kind of laser invented by two dentists in California.  They spent years developing a better way to treat gum disease.  This unique laser device is so incredibly small, about the width of three human hairs, is inserted between the gum tissue and your tooth, where it painlessly removes the destructive elements that cause gum disease.  The recovery time after periodontal treatments with the LANAP – Periolase is considerably shorter than traditional surgical treatments, which used to take weeks for full recovery.  With laser treatment, you’re able to resume your normal daily functions almost immediately.

STA - Single Tooth Anesthesia

STA - Single Tooth AnesthesiaIn our constant search for patient comfort Dental Professionals uses the revolutionary STA System.  The STA System is a computer controlled local anesthesia system that allows us to block a very targeted area for treatment.  This method allows the doctor to find the precise location for optimum anesthetic injection.  Through computer location technology, this incredible system lets the doctor know exactly where the optimum location is and exactly how much anesthesia is needed to create the ideal, comfortable environment for the patient.  No more leaving the dentist’s office without full feeling in your jaw, lips and mouth.  This system allows us to administer local anesthesia to an entire quadrant or just one tooth.  This allows us to virtually remove all the anxiety and discomfort of local anesthesia.

Digital Dental X-Rays

Digital Dental X-RaysDigital technology allows our doctors and dental team to use X-rays in ways never before imagined.  The digital X-ray technology used at Dental Professionals means that there is no long wait for dental X-rays to be developed, exposure to toxic chemicals used in film developing, not to mention a reduction in radiation exposure of up to 90 percent.  To take digital X-rays, we use a small sensor that is comfortably placed in the patient's mouth.  The sensor instantly transmits the images for display on the monitor in your treatment room, where the doctor will review them with you.  This computerized system allows us to enlarge the images in order to enhance or highlight specific areas for treatment in greatly defined detail.  Your dental X-rays can be archived digitally for future reference and electronically sent to your insurance provider if necessary.

Our Digital Dental X-Ray technology is safer and more comfortable than standard film X-Rays, and provides the highest quality images available instantly to our doctors and our patients.

Isolite™

Isolite for better experienceDental Professionals is excited to offer our patients the comfort and technology provided by the Isolite system.  This system allows a patient to have an ergonomic and comfortable soft bite block to prevent soreness that can sometimes result in having their mouths open for long periods of time.  The Isolite system also allows the doctor and staff to more quickly perform treatment options as it’s an all in one system for hydration and suction.  The Isolite system, in most cases, replaces the need for a dental dam, creating a more comfortable environment for the patient.  Our patients are so happy after their treatment with the Isolite system that they asked for it again and again.
